Until October 2007, John Marston was a General Practitioner in Barnstaple Devon, but has always been interested in music from an early age.

At secondary school, he first encountered and started playing the harpsichord, having played the piano since the age of 5 years.

Also at school he took up the oboe and reached the final auditions for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

He sang alto in the school choir, and later with The Elizabethan Singers under the direction of Louis Halsey.

After coaching from Alfred Deller, he gained a Choral Scholarship to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

He has played the harpsichord throughout the years since school, and directs the performances from the keyboard.
